Best Time to Visit Jericoacoara: Month-by-Month Weather
Jericoacoara is a year-round destination, but each period has its own character. The month you choose changes what you find: strong winds for sports, lagoons brimming with water, lower prices, or the village at its liveliest. Here is how to plan.
Dry season: July to January
This is the most popular period. Rain is rare, the sky stays clear and the winds are strong - perfect for kitesurfing and windsurfing, which make Jeri one of the best spots in the world. As high season, it is also when the village is busiest and prices rise, especially in July, December and January.
Rainy season: February to June
Rain concentrates in these months, usually in quick showers rather than all-day downpours. The big upside: the lagoons fill up and look their best - it is the finest time to enjoy Paradise Lagoon and Blue Lagoon. The village is quieter and accommodation prices tend to be more affordable.
Month-by-month summary
- July: school holidays, strong wind, peak high season and lots of movement.
- August to November: dry and windy, excellent for wind sports and a clear sunset.
- December and January: year-end festivities and the height of high season.
- February to June: full lagoons, warmer and more humid weather, lower prices.
So, when is the best time?
If your goal is kitesurfing, wind and a guaranteed sunset, go between August and November. If you value full lagoons, tranquility and great value, the rainy months (February to May) more than make up for it. In any season, it pays to combine tours and a transfer so you can enjoy the destination worry-free. See everything in one place on the Jericoacoara page.
