Welcome to the thrilling 110 km trekking experience through the stunning Lençóis Maranhenses, starting in Atins (MA) and ending in Santo Amaro (MA). Averaging 15 to 20 km per day, this is not a race, but rather an opportunity for individuals with a minimum level of physical fitness to embark on an unforgettable adventure. Both men and women, as well as teenagers over 15, are welcome. The pace of the hike will be set by the slowest participant, ensuring no one is left behind. During the journey, there will be no communication, Wi-Fi signal, or cell phone service. It is important that all participants follow the coordinators' instructions to avoid miscommunication within the group. The hike cannot be interrupted unless there is a serious problem with one of the participants.

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Arrival in Barreirinhas by 12 p.m.: All participants must arrive in Barreirinhas by 12 p.m., as we will have a few hours to buy any last-minute items, such as food, etc. At 3 p.m., we will depart from Barreirinhas to Atins by boat, on a journey of approximately 2 hours, during which we will enjoy a scenic tour along the Rio Preguiças. At 6 p.m., we will check in to shared accommodation in Atins.

Day 2 – After breakfast, we will begin the trekking adventure. At 8 p.m., we will stop to sleep on the dunes.

Day 3 – Overnight on the dunes, with departure at 5 a.m. heading to Baixa Grande, with an estimated arrival around 4 p.m.

Day 4 – Rest day in Baixa Grande to explore the region, including its lagoons and waterfalls.

Day 5 – Breakfast at 5 a.m., departure at 6 a.m. heading to Queimada dos Britos, with an estimated arrival at 2 p.m. Rest until 5 p.m., when we will enjoy the sunset on the dunes, before sleeping at 8 p.m. on the dunes.

Day 6 – Departure at 4 a.m. heading to Lagoa do Junco, arriving around 10 a.m. Departure from Junco at 12 p.m. heading to Bethânia, with an estimated arrival at 2 p.m.

Day 7 – Rest day in Bethânia to appreciate the surrounding beauty.

Day 8 – Departure from Bethânia at 7 a.m., after breakfast, heading to the end of the hike, with an estimated arrival between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in Santo Amaro. A car will take us from Santo Amaro to Barreirinhas, with an estimated arrival at 5 p.m. In Barreirinhas, we will check in to a hotel/inn to conclude the trekking journey.

Day 9 – Each participant returns to their place of origin. It is important to note that the times mentioned are only estimates.

Included in the price of R$ 1,500.00 per person:

– 2 long-sleeve UV shirts

– 1 balaclava

– 2 packs of chlorine tablets

– Powdered isotonic drink

– 15 cereal bars

– 8 carb up gels

Also included in the price:

– Speedboat transport from Barreirinhas to Atins

– Stay in shared rooms in Atins (4 people per room), with breakfast. If you wish to have private double rooms, please let us know in advance to check availability and the difference in price.

The cost of transport from the end of the trek in Santo Amaro to Barreirinhas is R$ 700.00 per car, which holds up to 10 people. This amount will be divided among all participants in each car. The route is approximately 120 km and takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to Barreirinhas.

IMPORTANT: Expenses during stops at the Redários/Oases will be paid individually by each participant. Everyone will be responsible for their spending on soft drinks, beers, food, coffee, lunch, dinner, etc. The average amount spent per meal is R$ 75.00, and the food is of excellent quality.

A WhatsApp group will be created, where information, questions, and inquiries from all participants will be shared. The trek date will not be changed; it is already 100% confirmed.

Participants from other locations must arrive in São Luís (MA) and take transport to Barreirinhas, which can be a van departing from the airport, bus station, or hotel in São Luís. The trip takes about 4 hours. However, you must arrive in Barreirinhas by 12 p.m. on the set day.

We prioritize doing the hike during the full moon, as it provides a visually stunning experience at the campsites.
